The Unforgiven 911 call

July 12, 2019

This is the audio of the call for help Amanda Hamm made while her three young children, trapped in her car, were drowning in a lake.

A warning: It’s not easy to listen to. Hamm is hysterical, to the point that the 911 dispatcher has great difficulty understanding her. About a minute into the call, her boyfriend Maurice LaGrone Jr. takes the phone and, in somewhat calmer tones, talks to the operator.

The jury that deliberated murder charges against LaGrone listened to this tape about 20 times.
