Police test Amanda Hamm’s car

August 18, 2019

Three days after her three children drowned, police returned Amanda Hamm’s car, a front-wheel drive Oldsmobile Cutlass, to Clinton Lake and the scene of the incident. It was to test how the car responded in different circumstances.

In this prosecution video, police park the vehicle on the boat ramp, just short of the water’s edge, and slip it into “drive.” The reenactment is an effort to ascertain how quickly the car would move into the water and how long it took to be fully submerged.
