Live radio coverage of
David Hendricks’s acquittal

December 2, 2018

Get ready for a rather remarkable flashback to the acquittal of David Hendricks on charges that he was responsible for the ax and butcher knife slayings of his wife and three young children.

Steve Vogel (whose book about the Hendricks case had been first published 17 months earlier) anchored Bloomington, Ill., radio station WJBC’s coverage.  Four WJBC reporters—Chris Brathwaite, Adam Nielsen, Howard Packowitz and Colleen Reynolds—were on the scene, bringing listeners news of the jury verdict and a series of interviews.

This recording of the live broadcast—technical flaws and all (minus a few commercial breaks)—includes interviews and the voices of Hendricks family members, his attorneys and, of course, that of David Hendricks.
