A person very familiar to those who’ve read Reasonable Doubt (or just followed the long-ago trials of David Hendricks in the murders of his wife and children) has surfaced in connection with the death of Jeffrey Epstein.
Epstein is the financier accused of trafficking girls for sex who was found dead in his jail cell, an apparent suicide.
Media reports say Epstein’s lawyers hired Dr. Michael Baden, a forensic pathologist, to observe law enforcement’s autopsy of Epstein’s body and to then conduct an independent autopsy.
Baden, a former chief medical examiner for New York City, was a colorful expert witness for the prosecution in both Hendricks trials. He was also a defense witness in the O.J. Simpson murder trial and, more recently, investigated the death of Michael Brown, who was killed by a police officer in Ferguson, Mo. Baden also hosted “Autopsy,” an HBO television documentary series, for 13 years.
Dr. Baden is 85 years old.
